I cancelled my therapy appointment today. Strangely, depression had nothing to do with it; I've been exhausted, and I'm in a fair amount of pain. But emotionally I'm feeling pretty well. I think I've reached some useful and important realizations of late; I don't want to go into them, but if things go the way I hope, well, we'll see. *crosses fingers*

My back still hurts, a great deal actually. Sitting down for any length of time aggravates it, as does carrying and walking. I just don't have the right things to sit in, I guess. Couches and bed are not ergonomic.

But, I'm in a good mood and will get lots of sleep tonight and hopefully it will continue to heal a bit at a time.

The American Association for the Advancement of Science's Annual Meeting is a yearly event attended by scientists from all over the continent and beyond, as well as teachers and journalists. It is particularly of interest to me if only because the National Association of Science Writers has ITS annual conference there, and it is an excellent place to receive inspiration and to network.

I'm going, for sure. You should come too. If I found friends to split a hotel room with, I'd be happy to stay in the hotel or a nearby hotel; otherwise I'll crash with the wonderful and amazing [livejournal.com profile] lariel, who unfortunately lives a bit of a ways away from the conference. Either way, I'm excited about seeing her.

If you are planning on being a scientist, or to teach science or write about it, this is a wonderful conference to attend, and it gives you a sense of what is going on in the world of science.

So. If you decide to go, let me know.

Goodness?

Tell me good things my friends. There are many bad things that are depressing today. I was going to write a post about it, but I think we have all read enough sad bad things, so instead, please write some nice things. Even if its a little personal thing that wouldn't normally matter, say something positive, something nice, something funny, something optimistic.

Have at!

Mine: Hopefully I will be bleeding soon. Also, I just realized that I have a five day weekend next weekend. woohoo... now what to do with it?
