The American Association for the Advancement of Science's Annual Meeting is a yearly event attended by scientists from all over the continent and beyond, as well as teachers and journalists. It is particularly of interest to me if only because the National Association of Science Writers has ITS annual conference there, and it is an excellent place to receive inspiration and to network.

I'm going, for sure. You should come too. If I found friends to split a hotel room with, I'd be happy to stay in the hotel or a nearby hotel; otherwise I'll crash with the wonderful and amazing [livejournal.com profile] lariel, who unfortunately lives a bit of a ways away from the conference. Either way, I'm excited about seeing her.

If you are planning on being a scientist, or to teach science or write about it, this is a wonderful conference to attend, and it gives you a sense of what is going on in the world of science.

So. If you decide to go, let me know.

I'm amused that AAAS advertises Science in the Berkeley BART station. I'm not sure there are many people who subscribe on a whim.

(It sounds like a nifty conference, but I should use my conference funding on things that are more specific to my field since I don't have much of it.)
