iChat does not directly support Yahoo IM or MSN IM.

Fire does, but it isn't as integrated with Tiger, nor does it do Video Chat as far as I know ( a functionality I don't CURRENTLY have the equipment to support, but aim to be able to eventually).

I know there are some makeshift fixes to link iChat up with YIM and MSNIM, but really, how annoying are they? Any opinions on which of these is better for a Mac Chat solution?

Came home and slept big whole bunches. Still nauseous, but I went out on a limb and had me some of that soup. Tastey. Nausea, but no vomiting.

So far.

Some good news:
http://www.torontopoly.ca

...now has a splash page with a sign up list to be notified when the page launches. Sweet!

Edit You can also see one of the many iterations of the new Toronto Poly logo [livejournal.com profile] rbowspryte has been working on there. Soon the others will be up at a link I can post for people to check out.

Good: I saw a bunny! It was just outside my office building, and it paused, and I tried to get my cameraphone out in time, but then it went into the hedge and I couldn't find it. Bunny! I think this made my day, silly as it may seem.

Bad: I'm really nauseous. I think I'm sick. And I'm going home. But that involves an hour on TTC while nauseous. Not good.

Good: This will give me more time to work on getting the laptop back to functional

Bad: I messed up my reinstall etc. attempts last night and have to start over

Good: The wipe and reinstall and application restore shouldn't take too long

Bad: My internet connection is so flakey I may not be able to do the software updates

Good: There is chicken and matza ball soup in my fridge, the perfect sick person meal

Entry deleted:

I'm using my iPod to back up my data as it is 40gigs, and then I will selectively return things to the freshly formatted hard drive of Lothlorien. It may take a while, but its free.

More on how to handle back ups shortly. Thank you, all, for your advice.

Got up at 8:30, laptop still not working, showered, went to the lab... told that they can't do the tests there, got referred to another.

Walked a few blocks south to the other lab...

Started the test at 10:45. They took five vials of blood for 20 tests, then fed me glucose. I napped in a chair for two hours, then they took another vial of blood, and sent me on my way. At this point, I haven't been allowed to eat or have more than tiny sips of water since 9:30 p.m. the night before. Grabbed some food, and went to CPUsed to drop off my laptop, which is not working.

Stopped off at home, and then headed to Arcadia. Snuggling, watching movies, and just relaxing... the pounding headache is gone. Still totally out of it, saying the wrong words, not getting things... But I don't feel as cruddy anymore.

I won't be so reachable via email for the next while, until my laptop woes are solved. In the meantime, be well all...
