Tell me good things my friends. There are many bad things that are depressing today. I was going to write a post about it, but I think we have all read enough sad bad things, so instead, please write some nice things. Even if its a little personal thing that wouldn't normally matter, say something positive, something nice, something funny, something optimistic.

Have at!

Mine: Hopefully I will be bleeding soon. Also, I just realized that I have a five day weekend next weekend. woohoo... now what to do with it?

My product shipped... but no, that's not really it. I got to hold (and keep) and actual boxed copy of what I've been working on for the last 12-14 months today. It's hard to explain exactly what that feeling is, but it's good, and it's real. :)

While I haven't experienced exactly that, from the similar things I've done I can say that yes, that is definitely a goodness! Go you, and thanks for sharing the love!

*much hugfulness*

Um...I managed to get a teaching job that starts immediately in the South Bay part-time, then will go to full-time when I get my credential in January. I get to teach ESL/SDAIE reading and language arts, which should be interesting, at a high school with 4000 students. Until I go full-time, I managed to acquire another holiday part-time job at The Body Shop to help with expenses. So it looks like I will fortunately not have to move out of the country in March, which I was fearing.

So there's obviously some hope for the world, or more immediately, teachers, as I also happened upon a Craigslist ad begging for teachers for SF private schools. Does that help? :)

Yes! I'm tired of my friends being unemployed. Everyone should recognize their brilliance and coolness and hire them and give them lots of money and benefits (and vacation time so we can all veg and travel together).

w00t. BTW, thanks for the IM; I was busy being all social in Vegas, but I did read it and appreciate the communication attempt. :)

More employment good news:

I have the actual paperwork in my hands to fill out for getting hired full-time for the job I've been doing for the past year on contract. This means little things like getting benefits, and being able to get a car.

From: [identity profile] danaeris.livejournal.com
yay! Benefits and the freedom to, say, get a car, is kinda key, isn't it?

From: [identity profile] silentmwe.livejournal.com
yeah, like I said, the little things :) Now I just need a license to go with the car.

1. Still working full time, for the first time in about two years.
2. The product that I spent all of July editing is to be released on the 22nd, which means I should be getting paid for it in January.
3. Cute willing people are both willing and cute.

I'll be in your neck of the woods in 2 days and be staying there for a week. We should get together!

If you'd like to, that would be cool. Where are you staying, and how long will you be around?

I'm staying with [livejournal.com profile] unseelie and I'll be around until next Saturday (the 27th) morning. I'll have my cell phone with me, give me a call if we don't manage to work out plans before I leave. If you don't have my cell phone number, send me e-mail at my livejournal address.

I may have found the ant food in my room. I do have a big hole in the floor now, yay! The living room is clean. VSB is getting some of Adobe's customers because they are currently organized by color (this might be more useful if both stores actually stocked similar books). I might be able to have a cleanish room!

Drink some tea made from lobelia.

woohoo! Having a clean or cleaner room always leaves me with a feeling of satisfaction.

When do the parental units arrive?

Tommorrow morning, so now is the time to panic!

Tonight I will see if any of the fabric bins are empty and if I can stuff what's lying around my room in them. Then I hope I can see floor more clearly!

Ok d'ok

I made contact wit han old friend last night.

Someone who I haven't seen or talked to since 1988.

And it was good. Soon, I'll get to meet her 7-year-old child.

I finished dealing with something that would be easy for most people but is one of the hardest things imaginable for me, and I survived. Perhaps just barely, but it's over, and it will be easier next time.

My eldest child, usually the most tempermental, has been incredibly patient and understanding about abrupt changes in her world lately. That is the most delightful blessing I could hope for.

I certainly shall. You should come to a W&S again. That's about the only time I get to see anyone.

We all have wonderful friends and family. Everyone has been terribly thoughtful, jumping in to help with the arrangements Sarah and our house has needed.

I'm glad. *big hugs to you and others* I'm often grateful for the community we live in. Even when we're all strapped with our own stress and money issues etc., we find a way to go that extra mile (or inch, or dollar) to provide a safety net for each other.

The play is coming together really nicely. We did the Miracle Max scene today and couldn't stop cracking up.

Also, I feel so blessed to have [livejournal.com profile] riseorbleed in my life. I couldn't ask for a more devoted, loving, compatible partner.

There are tons of good things over here -- I'm more mentally healthy than I've ever been in my life, I have a business I'm starting next spring that will put me back in the Bay Area for a while, and there are plans for [livejournal.com profile] darthsunshine and I to live at Annwfn as caretakers (I owe you and infinitude of happy hugs for dragging me out to meet folks so I could meet her). There are warm fuzzy slippers on my feet, pleasant music on the speakers, and a blue sky with perfect white puffy clouds out my window. Oh, and the internet to attempt at keeping some sort of contact up with friends while I'm madly getting my life in order. And, of course, friends themselves are a very, very good thing.

*hugs* missin' you...
