It's really tragic.

See, I someday want a really pretty head board/bedframe.

And I want it to have tie points.

And I like to sit in bed, which means that a metal bed frame may not offer the support I desire.

I think there are some really expensive headboards made of carved wood that would give me a solid surface to lean against, tie points, and prettiness.

*pout* Don't want it to be that hard! Wah!

So you wanna read my writing? Here's some random fictional prose for you )

Criticism not desired. I'm way too out of practice to expect to be any good. :) When I get my finances and career in order, I'll go looking for a writing workshop and get my fiction and poetry back in shape. THEN you can all criticize me all you want. Although, I must admit that I kind of like this.

someone in [livejournal.com profile] sfbayarea is having a wedding at a park outside San Rafael with a ren faire theme. They need two people to help with serving food etc.

Check out the post if you're interested and have garb. It looks like a nice, quick, and fun way to make some money and get some free tasty food.

Bad News
My brother had an accident during fire dancing and has second degree burns. He will have to cancel his visit this weekend.

Good News
He should be able to get credit towards tickets for some later date, so he'll still be visiting eventually.

This also means that I can pierce my nipples as soon as I'm ready, and that I suddenly have the whole weekend free.

I have a number of ideas of what I could do with the weekend. Stay here and go to any events that are going on (what's going on this weekend??). Get last minute cheap tickets to somewhere (anyone interested in flying somewhere with me this weekend?). Go on a road trip somewhere (anyone interested in driving somewhere with me this weekend?).

So.

If you would particularly like to join me for my piercing, now is a good time to contact me with your schedule.

If you are interested in road tripping or flying somewhere with me, please contact me in comments or elsewhere.

And if you know of anything nifty going on this weekend, please let me know.

Toe update

Well, the toe is still aching. Aches more after moving it. Walking around the apartment and as far as brainwash didn't seem to aggravate it noticeably, although I plan to wear my non-bendy-soled sandles until it stops hurting.

I'm now at 27 hours since the toe was stubbed, nearly 28.

I'm icing it, and I might take some ibuprofen.

I guess there won't be any working out for me until its better, just in case.

I need to be at therapy today at 6. I could take lots of buses, I suppose. Or I could test it and walk there. hmm.

wee.

OK, folks. This headboard that I just found on craigslist is selling for only $40, and I could be crazy, but I think it is made of wood that will approximately match my dresser (woo!)

Anyone have opinions on whether it is worth $40, and also as to whether it would match my wooden dresser (the only furniture I own that I'm particularly attached to)?

It can be seen here:
http://www.craigslist.org/sfc/fur/37369882.html

It also is mostly solid for comfortable leaning, yet on the sides it is kind of post-y which may make for good tie points, as desired.

Today I started and finished writing a chapter all in one day.

That leaves me with four more chapters to complete. Sadly, three of them are on topics I don't care for. However, perhaps I'll learn something nifty and new.

From this chapter, I learned how lasers work. Cool!

And from the previous chapter, I learned about quantum dots, which are apparently a huge field of research.

What next?! :)
