It's disappointing but for the best.
The details:
I went to Body Manipulations on 16th at Guerrero. Their facility was clean (though not as clean as Tribal Ways), and the guy I saw seemed very knowledgeable and handled the problem promptly and properly.
The left ring was almost all the way out already. Not offended particularly, but migrating out. The right one had been migrating on one side, but not the other, which accounts for why it seemed more tilted than I remember it originally being.
According to the guy I saw, I was not rejecting the metal. However, his shop does not have access to european surgical steel, so when I get them repierced I should go for the titanium.
It was apparent that the cause of the migration was the use of 14g rings on large breasts. The rings curving down along the breasts pushes the rings up and outward, which caused the migration. Next time, I should use 12g barbells.
Tribal Ways was concerned about inserting threaded barbells into a fresh piercing, but apparently there are barbells with INTERNAL threading. So this isn't a problem.
So in two months at the earliest, I will probably return to Body Manipulations and get them repierced with titanium barbells. Once those are thoroughly healed, I can use my rings with blue beads, which I've kept.
When I first got these piercings, I was conflicted about them and did not have the right motivations. But when and if I repierce them, I know I'll be doing it because I know what I'm doing and I want them. So I think this is for the best. The piercings be a symbol of my own independence and right to choose.
