I would just like to take this moment to say that brian1789 is my new hero, or knight in shining armor, or whatever you want to call it.

He just spent THREE HOURS going over my hair with a fine toothed comb -- literally. I am truly lucky to have a friend who is willing to do something like this for me -- and knowledgeable enough. THANK YOU.

Yay! Now off to do laundry again...

What if I said "varies directly"? would that still be wrong?

Is there any way of saying, "When L increases, P increases," even if it isn't linearly?

Socialness

I'm feeling kind of ambiguous about going out.

It was my intention to go to the DHP, possibly on the earlier side.

But I'm feeling a little something, I'm not sure what. I'm not sure what I want.

DHP is far away, and there is rarely anyone returning to the city when I want to leave. aberrantvirtue and random_vamp, who I often get a ride from, will be here in the city at Sin!, and I will sorely miss their presence. Well, at least, aberrantvirtue will be here in the city.

I have so much work to do; getting that done feels much more inspiring than going to a party. If I stayed in the city, I could drop in at Sin! for an hour or two, get free drinks, see aberrantvirtue spin, etc.

On the other hand, I wouldn't have the chance to get some quality socializing in with people like ravenslost, angelbob, and mertuil, among others. (dunno who else will be there)

zyxwvut seemed interested in going, but hasn't responded to my phone call.

So for the moment, while I'm being indecisive, I'm going to sit here and get work done. If motivation one way or the other manifests, great. Otherwise, I may or may not make it to either or neither event.

chocolate chip cookies

I have decided that while going to parties and clubs is optional, baking some prepackaged chocolate chip cookie dough that's been languishing in my fridge is not.

This way, I can use the cookies I don't eat to feed the hungering hordes at DHP, or lure cute girls (or boys!) back to the apartment from Sin.

And when you've got spare nutella, what better thing to lavish with nutella than a chocolate chip cookie?

And when you are working your ass off and skipping two fun events at once, what better way to make yourself feel appropriately hedonistic than chocolate chip cookies?

I tell you folks, I think I'm onto something here. ;p

(no subject)

mactavish pointed me towards this fascinating site.

It's called the age project, and people can use it to guess the age of people who have uploaded photos.

I'm finding it interesting because I've always felt I look younger than I am. So far, people on the site seem to agree, pegging my age at four years younger than I am.

It's 9 p.m. So I think it is time to do a cameo at Sin, say hi to the beautiful aberrantvirtue, and get me some free drinks. As much as I miss a number of the folks at DHP, I just don't think it's happening for me tonight.

one of Qs um-friends just said on his way out the door, "I hope I wasn't too much trouble."

I laughed and said "yeah, whatever."

I find it amusing that he would think that it would bother me that they were fucking in his room and in the bathroom on and off all evening. I imagine Q finds the suggestion pretty amusing too.

Have I mentioned that in spite of logistical issues, I love my housemates? They're just really cool people!
