Say what you will about angst, it has its good points. I feel like [livejournal.com profile] unseelie and I are falling in love all over again. Not that we fell out of love, but its more that we're rediscovering the reasons we love each other so much and in so doing, reaffirming our feelings and reinforcing them. And stomping out all the bad feeligns leftover from the drama.

This morning there was virtually no hot water. We didn't HEAR anyone taking a shower last night... and usually there's plenty for me to stand under the massage shower head afterwards. ;) It was... unpleasant, as it ran out while we still had conditioner unrinsed.

The Moonbase now has a brand new/used 24" color TV with remote control! And [livejournal.com profile] unseelie is picking up another new one (19 or 20") for himself today. We will both have TVs that don't suck! yay!

And I have pants! And yes, [livejournal.com profile] evergrey "I find your lack of pants disturbing."

I'm also wearing my pretty new bra. I feel pretty and am in new material object lust. mmm.

I'm probably going to do a follow up poll on the crush thing later today addressing kinds of attraction (intellectual, physical, psychological, spiritual). Just because I thought that aspect of [livejournal.com profile] being_angyl's poll was really interesting. I also want to clarify in my poll who thought the poll was secret or relatively so and who thought it wasn't.

Speaking of which, people who haven't should go fill out my existing crush poll here (results viewable only to me). So far, NONE of the crushes have been accounted for, unless people who listed as crushes in the meme are listing themselves now as thinking I'm hot and sexy instead.

And boy, do I feel hot and sexy. It's good to be desired, I guess. :)

As promised, here is that other poll, based off of [livejournal.com profile] being_angyl's poll. Results are viewable to my friends. Enjoy!

Oh, and if you're new and I haven't added you, please read my user info and then email me or comment as requested so I can add you to my friends list and appropriate filters!

[Poll #192268]

A friend just posted some weight loss tips in hir journal, and two of them are things I'd always been confused about before, because for me they contradict slightly. I was hoping someone here could clarify for me.

The are...
Eat upon waking
and
Exercise upon waking

Which should I do first? Currently, I get up, get dressed, brush teeth, drink some water, and head to work, which is a 20 minute walk, before eating. Breakfast at work is cheaper, bigger, and healthier ($2 for scrambled eggs, fruit salad, and bagels, or free milk to eat with your cereal). I thought this was the ideal for my health... wake up, exercise, and then eat. Do I have it backwards?

The only other thing in there that was new to me and helpful was the fact that apparently, drinking ice water burns calories. Lots of them. I like ice water. I'm sometimes bad about drinking it because of laziness. Clearly I should drink more water and make sure it is icy.

Our Lease claims that we have to pay 30% of the water bill for the building (the businesses downstairs pay the other 70%).

Q insists that this is illegal and that we don't have to pay it, and that if we continue to not pay it the bill will just go away when the building sells. But it has now been more than half a year and we've gotten a legal notice from our landlady stating that we owe $150 for those months of water bills.

Anyone know the legalities of this or where we can look it up?

I was walking home from brainwash after grabbing dinner to go, and this woman is running along the sidewalk yelling at her male partner, who is chasing her. She's saying things like I hate you and stuff like that, and he is responding in kind. As she runs by, she hit me really hard over the head and yelled "Bitch!"

?!???

Never seen them in my life. My neck hurts a little and I'm a teeny bit in shock, because I was walking and reading and didn't even remotely see it coming.

That was so fucked up...

Oh, and my email is temporarily down. Right now the best way to contact me is via phone or by commenting in my lj.

So I finally sit down to watch the rest of Ghost in the Shell on the new TV and whaddaya know... we're still getting that weird fade from bright to dim, except now there's no color distortion (which helps). And there's still the occasional blue screen.

I checked and the VCR doesn't have this problem. So. There are three possibilities here.
(1) The A/V cable is broken. Anyone have an A/V cable we can borrow to test this theory? Or a spare one you are willing to give us?
(2) [livejournal.com profile] fenwickrysen's DVD player is broken in some way.
(3) The part of [livejournal.com profile] dragon_spirit's VCR which receives the signal from the DVD player is broken.

I'm laying my bets on #1. Any thoughts/helpful input?

So after all of [livejournal.com profile] joedecker's shameless plugs, I think I'm going to sign up for a Bay Area Model Mugging course. Ironically, I'd been seriously considering it for the first time on my way home. Now this experience has clinched the deal.

Anyone want to take their class with me? There's one coming up in SF proper running for 5 Sundays: Oct. 26-Nov. 23, 12:30-5:30 p.m. (except the third day runs approximately two hours longer than that). Unknown rates, but I will call and find out tomorrow. I will email the cost to anyone who expresses interested in taking it.

Also, if I should want to continue afterwards by learning a martial art, I have a small problem. Bad knees. I tried aikido very briefly once, and really liked it. The sensei tried to talk me into continuing but I just didn't have the time. But I'm really not sure WHAT martial art would be lowest impact on my knees. Suggestions? I figure its a life skill and exercise, all in one. How can I go wrong with that?

Oh, and my e-mail is working again. Go [livejournal.com profile] digitalsidhe go!

But my back is fucking killing me. I wish I had some aleve.
Edit: My back has been hurting all day; it has nothing to do with the assault. It's my upper right back, near the shoulder.
