buying a used car

Anyone have any idea how much money it would cost to buy a used car that is reliable, maybe even refurbished and under warranty, but not necessarily uber nice?

Ultimately, I would like to get myself a car that has A/C and is small so it is easy to park in the city.

I could go the police auction route, or so I hear, but then I'd have to take it as it was, and bring it into a shop to get checked up and revamped if I wanted to be sure it wasn't going to let me down.

I'm probably not doing this soon... possibly in January, possibly a little sooner.

Another car question

So I went and looked at Kelly Blue Book, and discovered a problem. I don't know what car I want.

Anyone have any hints on figuring this out? Websites that have a variety of ways to pick out vehicles?

I want a car that is an automatic and small. Small is good for city driving. A/C would be very nice, but is negotiable. Other than that, cheap is the key word. Anyone have a suggestion of a particular car that might fit that description?

unseelie's car is better, and while they were there, they discovered that the reason his battery keeps on running down is that there's an internal short in the battery. Which is free to fix since the battery was from AAA and is still under warranty. It still came out to more than we really can afford... $392 including diagnosis, labor and parts. I don't know if that's more than a starter motor SHOULD be, but whatever.

And in other news, its amazing how much it can cheer me up to see a friend in the middle of the work day. I should do that more often. Let it be known that lunch breaks with friends are good, and people who work in SoMa should contact me! But yeah. After rosefox left, I had this big stupid grin on my face. And we decided we should do lunch in the future! That's hella cool. ;)

At 5 I will get off work and head to Van Ness where I will pick up unseelie's car. Then home to shower and then off to meet him at the train station. yay!

That Crush Meme

-First, I'd like to state that I did not take the crush meme, so if you're wondering if I am figured in your statistics, I'm not.
-Second, I have no intention of buying the results. I agree with most of my friends that the whole situation is just... wrong. If someone who has a secret crush on me wants to TELL me, then that is their decision and theirs alone. Whoever is running that company has some serious gaps in hir ethics.

Is it a bad sign that 8.5 people no longer have crushes on me? I wonder if that's a "disillusioned" or a "just lost that level of interest" thing. Probably varies from case to case.

anime episodes online

So if I downloaded an anime episode from somewhere online, how many Megabytes would it take up? I'm trying to figure out if it would fit on a 128 meg memory card, or a 256. Of course, it would be re-encrypted by Kinoma, so that might shrink it some more.

Anyone know of anywhere that has anime episodes for download?

A thoughtful add on to that crush thing...

I am actively looking for ways to fill up my empty nights, nowadays. unseelie has an interesting work schedule, and hey, we spend too much time together anyway. It's really tempting when you're as in love as we are. I think, ultimately, that both of us going out and strengthening friendships and pursuing love interests SEPARATELY will be good for both of us AND for our relationship.

So for instance, I have spare time during the day this weekend, possibly both Saturday and Sunday (Some of Saturday may be booked, ask and I'll let you know when I've figured it out).

I'm not interested in jumping into a Relationship with anyone right now -- there's three people I currently view as prospects for a relationship if things should develop in that direction, and there are high odds that they all know who they are, since they've all expressed interest back at me and have either been on dates with me or have scheduled a date with me. Events this weekend and Lord of the Rings showings

Anyone know of anything interesting going on this weekend? I don't know of anything/my schedule seems empty. Most weekends there's a party or club on Friday or Saturday, but this time I don't seem to have anything pencilled in... oh, except I think there's a Funkenstein party Saturday night. Is that right? I believe I've been told I'm still welcome there, and things seem a little smoother nowadays, so maybe I'll go. Long time since I've been there...

Also, I know there are some theaters doing all day marathons of the three Lord of the Rings movies when the third is released. Does anyone know of a theater in the Bay Area that is doing this? Is anyone interested or planning on doing this at any particular theater or just in general?

Pants! I have pants!

I am SO stylin'.

The pants I ordered from the GAP Saturday before last off of unseelie's gift card arrived. I now own a hot pair of cords and an even hotter pair of heavy velvet pants hat show my bootie off nicely and are the right length WITHOUT being pinned. And they both have pockets, I might add. And belt loops. I'm wearing the velvet ones right now.
