I know the answer to "When do I get a car" — when I have a license and know I'll have the cash to continue feeding the beast (ie., this job is out of probationary period).

The question to which I have no answer is this:

When do I move out?

Every month I live here, I save up the cost of food and rent (minus 250). It's a pretty sweet deal. Too sweet. When do I move? Sure, if I met someone I'd probably want to move for the privacy alone. But barring that, when do I move?

As soon as possible? Well then, tomorrow, and there goes saving money down the tube.
As late as possible? Well then, as long as I can stand it, and who knows where the line is there.
When opportunity strikes? Well then, I could be waiting forever for the perfect opportunity.

There's got to be a good in between. I'm sure there are reasons other than hedonism and pride to move.
Like, sanity, or even, self-sufficiency, and letting those skills stagnate.

Questions I'd love advice on:
->Reasons to move out.
->Possible deadlines to help motivate the move.

I'm looking for a remedial french course... I was in french immersion until 8th grade, but that was a while ago and now my french is rather sad.

I've looked at Humber and Mohawk so far... None of them seem to have an accelerated or remedial french class, unless I'm looking in the wrong places. Also, Humber's next session JUST started, but it looks like Mohawk won't be having any other classes until fall other than the ones which have been in session for a month. Any ideas or suggestions?

  • I am looking into taking courses in french, sewing, fiction, and more at the local community college

  • I am aiming to buy a Toyota Echo from sometime between 2000 and 2005, as soon as I have a local license. I'll be buying used from a dealer, complete with warranty et. al. Based on preliminary price checks, this will run me about 10-16K CAD

  • Bioré strips rock my world

  • Cetaphil is also the facial soap for me. Noticeably softer skin, yet no irritation and hardly any drying.

  • My hair is still sad

  • I'm looking into how admissions, funding, etc. tie together in Ontario's university system, but I'm having trouble finding statistics to confirm or refute my suspicions. This may turn into an op ed, or an article, or simply an LJ post, but not until I find those damn statistics

  • I believe I'm hoping to head into the city this weekend so I can hit [livejournal.com profile] tormenta and [livejournal.com profile] wulfram's party Saturday, and the poly brunch Sunday, heading back to Hamilton in time for the women's bath house if I'm still up for more fun. Anyone interested in lunch, dinner, breakfast, or offering crash space? This will likely be featured in its own entry shortly.

  • ceci n'est pas un mot.

Also, some fluff:

Today, a number of scienceblog headlines were making me giggle. Based on the icons going next to posts nowadays, I suspect whoever is in charge of science blog now has an interesting sense of humour.

Here are some of them, for your amusement. And then, I will sleep, or attempt to.

The amusing images, btw, include things like pictures of flared bell bottom pants next to an article about solar flares, and pictures of fake magicians performing levitation next to articles with a headline using the word levitation. Very cute.
