I have this internship, you see.

And in the fine tradition of MIT folk... I like to work hard, play hard. The laid back atmosphere in CA hasn't permitted me to do that. I like being in an environment where I have lots of challenging work or extracurriculars to do and there's always something to do in my spare time--something that isn't lame. Until recently, I hadn't realized how true that was.

The internship will be fabulous, wonderful, and the equivalent of a full-time job. On top of that, I'll be teaching skating and freelancing. The freelance project from that textbook company came through, and I am boggled at the amount of money it will make me. Wow. They want this project done by August 1st; after that they have other projects they'd like to hand me if they are happy with my work on this one.

I'm going to be working something on the order of 50-60 hours per week when everything is taken into account, and its going to be a BLAST!

Monday nights, I have plans, every week, be it Death Guild or a small weekly gathering I'm invited to (or both). Tuesday nights there's always Goth night at Hobson's. Wednesdays boy is at game, Thursdays may end up being LWB permanently (we'll see), and the weekends... well, I'll be teaching and then have other fun things to do.

On top of that I want to try to follow through on the dancing thing if I can. I'm going to do this; I'm going to overload myself and challenge myself and its going to be AWESOME. And when the internship is over, I'll rest. And only then. At which point I'll have a lot more money and have had a blast.

Went to dekonstrukt to celebrate. Had a vanilla mudslide, and discovered that while I didn't feel very tipsy, apparently consuming one of those in ~30 minutes messes with my balance a little. I couldn't quite dance right. Mostly I was fine; it was spinning-y moves or turning my head rapidly that would make me start to lose my balance. The music wasn't quite right, I didn't want another drink to make me even more tipsy, and there were very few people I knew. So I came home. Browsed LJ including an alternative script for Buffy's Finale from [livejournal.com profile] jadasc's journal, did sit-ups, danced in front of the mirror some...
Now I'm going to stretch while I read, then take a short hot bath before I get into bed. mmm.

Woohoo!

I am Green for Go on WorldCon!

If anyone is going and would like to split a room or hang out there, or if anyone knows someone who will be there, please drop me a line!

So I'll be in Toronto Labor Day weekend!

I've never really planned costuming for a con's costume night in the past. I'd like to try this time. To that end...

stuff.

So my last 8 boxes from Boston just arrived. I don't remember what is in them, for the most part. This'll be exciting, like looking for the prize in a box of cereal! Yay! Of course, I don't know where I'm going to put it all, but one thing at a time.
