if i weren't moving that weekend, i'd invite you to stay at my place instead of a hotel, but i'd for sure love to see you then. we'll plan closer to the time? s
Oh, come on. Tickets are only, what, $350 USD... Well, ok, that is a lot.
The real trick is that I'm getting a press pass through Wired, and my parents are paying for half my plane ticket, and so ScionFey and I only need to cover his ticket, his con membership, and a hotel room for two nights (we'll stay with my parents the other nights). Our costs will come to about... $750. For two people, an awesome con, and ~5 days in Toronto, that's damn good. :)
I killed all my leave time on my Australia trip. I'm saving it up again for a trip next summer. Plus I already have budgeted money and two days of leave for a trip to a small con in N'awlins in October...
Anyways, have fun. And try to go to the Strange Horizons party. We throw good parties. All the cool kids go!
(And I actually am not entirely joking about that; a lot of the up-and-coming authors have worked with us. Last year's Campbell winner was an SH author, and I think two of this year's nominees, as well. And one of the art nominees ran a gallery with us; he was nominated last year as well, but didn't win.)
