AAAS conference

I've already had some great networking conversations with people... I was chatting with the woman who runs the science stream at Carleton's journalism program, and ended up talking to someone who used to work for Astronomy as a senior editor. He said he thought I could do better (oh? where are these better jobs?), and also suggested that Astronomy's Editor in Chief, who doesn't have any kind of post-secondary degree, would feel very threatened by my degree from MIT, and that this may have had something to do with me not getting the position. Interesting...
