There's a job I want to apply for, but they want the following qualification:
The ability to analyze traffic data and optimize programming accordingly

(this would be traffic data for the website mp3.com)

Is this something easy that I could learn trivially if I don't already know how, or is it something that if I don't know, I probably can't handle the job?

unseelie and I are looking into options. We're about to make a purchase of tickets to a private event but before we do that, we want to make sure we're taking all of our options into account.

I just applied for two positions that would be... amazing for me.

One was the position of a part-time science and math instructor for grades 9-11 at a small private San Francisco school. I will actually be applying Monday; they want a faxed resume, so I'll use the fax machine at work, first thing.

The other was the position of part-time physics instructor at the Art Institute of San Francisco.

Both of these positions would likely pay adequately well to keep me on my feet while providing me with lots of spare time to pursue freelance writing. Both of these are amazingly good matches for my background, especially the latter (which is located at Civic Center!)

*prays* Please, if you have a chance, have a word with your deity of choice. Tell them I should get one of these jobs. *crosses fingers*

If the physics one happens (not sure about the former's start date), I will probably have to change my travel dates on my tickets to Boston so that I'm not missing any classes, which are all on Monday from 1-5 p.m.: I'd probably wind up taking an evening flight and arrive either late late Monday night or early Tuesday morning, and fly back on a red eye Sunday night. But I could make it work.
