Apparently I slept funny last night. I have a crick in the neck that won't let me straighten my head. Crying shame because I also slept really WELL last night, which was a nice change. I really don't like walking around with my head leaning slightly to the left... Anyone know how to get rid of this kind of crick?

In the meantime, I'm sure you've all heard about the Sodomy laws being repealed (sorta) by the Supreme Court. Ruled against, anyway. Yay! *bounce*
I predict a particularly exciting Pride.

Today assuming the heat doesn't 'get me', I'm going to try to get three chapters done and stop by Cliff's Variety in the Castro. Wish me luck!

Current temperature in my room is 80 degrees F. Weee.

heat wave survival part 1

Two chapters down, one more to go.

My secret?

As it turns out, the bathroom is, for some reason, a tolerable temperature.

Fill the tub with cold water, grab a glass of ice water, place a comfy chair in front of the tub, dip your feet in, sip the ice water, and work away. It works remarkably well. I've been COMFORTABLE. Like, alert and stuff.

The one thing that is still seriously decreasing my quality of life is my neck. Stretches provide temporary relief but it goes back the way it was after a short period of time. :(

Heat wave survival part II

So I've done three chapters, and got some more work done on my Pride costume. Now I just need to hop in the shower, clean off the sweat/cool down, and head to the Castro to get some shopping done.

My plans for that are:
(1) A water bottle full of ice water
(2) Skimpy breezy clothing
(3) Wet hair/freshly showered

In the meantime, my basic pride costume just needs a little more stitching to be ready to go! Then I can start making collars and arm bands, but I haven't figured out how I would design those, so I'm glad its not time to start work on that yet. I'm going to look rawking!
I stitched the bottom properly instead of using glue, and I have to say it looks vastly better than the top came out. But part of that isn't just the use of glue, but also the shape of the top, which I suspect would need darts or some more complex sewing foo to make work (because breasts are round. heheh. heh.)

Off I go! Still hot, sweaty and naked...
