I have no plates, cups, mugs, bowls, etc.

While I'd love donations, if no one is able to offer me enough plates stuff to equip and entertain, or if what I'm offered is too hideous to abide, I may just bite the bullet and buy Corelle.

To that end, and to satisfy my nesting lust, I was just browsing their site.
http://www.corelle.com

I'd want to see them in person before buying because these pictures don't give enough of a closeup, but the ones that interest me are in the Livingware section:

Bahia, Callaway, Country Garden, Mediterraneo, Shadow Iris, Simply Spring, Tropical Breeze

Sadly, the only of these I've seen in local stores is Callaway. It is possible, however, that the factory outlet in Kitchener would have better selection.

ebay can be a great place to assemble a set of corelle dishes cheaply. We wanted to expand our set which was not in "print" any more so that's how we did it.

We have Shadow Iris and have been very happy with it. If I get a chance, I'll take a closeup of one of our plates and sent it to you.

I love Corelle. :) Those look nicer than the ones I have. :)

I've got mugs, but nothing that would match them. I can drop off an example with [livejournal.com profile] pyat, if you like, and you can see if you can stand the pattern or not (they're a little old fashioned, maybe 70s?)
I think mugs are all I have extra, as most of my extra dishes have dwindled due to breakage in the last year or two. The glass plates with the ripple pattern were pretty, but not very sturdy in the dishwasher. I've got a cracked one that needs to go now, even :(

Corelle is also available at Canadian Tire, Zellers, Wal-Mart, The Real Canadian Superstore and Sears.

I have the Shadow Iris set - you've probably eaten off of them at rbowspryte/my place *grins*

The sets aren't that expensive and they'll last nearly forever. My mom still has 95% of her set....... from 20+ years ago and they've survived 5 kids.
