Tomorrow evening I am heading into Toronto to sign the lease and get keys for my new apartment, assuming I don't look at the place and go, "What was I thinking?"
I will probably also remeasure the place when I'm there so I can plan furniture placement, take pictures, and get the height of the ceiling.
If anyone would like to come see the place and/or do a celebratory dinner before I head back to Hamilton, let me know!
Begin edit: My parents are driving into the city with a load of easy-to-pack stuff (boxes that just needed to be taped up and some small furniture, including chairs for my intrepid movers to sit on), picking me up from work, and taking me to sign the lease. Once we've unloaded, we'll probably head back to Hamilton.End edit!
I'll need help moving, of course. Anyone who helps will be treated to beverages, free meals, etc., as is traditional. :)

I'm suffering from a lot of anxiety about this. I've been looking for so long, it's hard to accept anything is actually changing, and that it will work out, and that this is the right decision. In fact, I guess you could say I have a case of buyer's remorse.
Next post, I'll list furniture I have/may need, and also describe the apartment in more detail.

Date: 2006-02-01 07:11 am (UTC)I am willing to help paint or move on Saturday afternoon around 2pm (after pottery class). I have evening parties to go to but I gather you do too.
I would be willing & available to help on Sunday, except that moving boxes is a pretty sneezy business, and I'll be avoiding antihistamines for 3 days before my allergist appointment.
