Three sick people...

...trying to make NYE happen == cancelled plans.

Actually, I'm not particularly sick; just tired. But, for the purposes of NYE parties, it amounts to the same thing. I'm back home in Hamilton now after having spent all day killing time in the city, eating dinner alone at Rainforest Cafe (an expensive and bizarre restaurant), and then having plans fall apart. And, it may be just as well. There's something to be said for a quite evening with my laptop, fuzzy pjs, book, bath tub, and tv. I have several new episodes of favourite programs to watch!


Yesterday was a lovely lovely day. I slept in way way late, ran some errands, and then bus-ed into the city. There, I dropped off stuff for mzrowan with littlehoudini, who was kind enough to drop me off at CAYA.

I went in intending to buy one thing and walked out with a little something completely different. Then, I stopped into Bakka where I was weak and got myself the last two books in Diane Duane's Wizards series (the last being still in hardcover, but discounted 20% for boxing week).

Then, streetcar over to Carbon Computing where I returned something I hadn't meant to buy and used that as a credit towards Apple Care for my laptop.

I was supposed to TTC up to ladygiggles and knotty_mark's for dinner, but there was a massive accident that had huge amounts of the streets blocked off, so Mark wound up coming to pick me up.

Dinner was a huge steak from the grill, grilled veggies, and roasted sweet potatoes. The latter in particular were just to DIE for. *drools**salutes ladygiggles*

Unfortunately, dinner ran late, so we had to go to the ten o'clock showing of Syriana, which was nonetheless fabulous. I recommend the movie to you all, although it is not light fare, and could be described as depressing.

In other news, in keeping with the season... I don't normally do New Years Resolutions. However, I thought this meme, adapted from will279802's journal, was interesting:

In all honesty, that's me, too. I've been tired and depressed and just generally entirely out of energy ever since getting back; I'm not sure if it's the season or missing linuxspice or if something's genuinely the matter. At least Sybil is being adorable. I'm so sorry about tonight....
