Pittsburgh travel plans
Aug. 15th, 2005 02:05 pmI'm looking at attending the joint NASW/CASW workshop and news briefing this coming October (22-26). It's approximately five hour drive from Hamilton, six hours from Toronto, based on google maps directions. Luckily, by then I'll have my valid ON license, and be over 25, so I can affordably rent the car! Big challenge is, will I be up to driving that far on my own if necessary?
(1) Anyone interested in carpooling with me, or splitting a greyhound companion fare if there is a bus?
(2) Anyone on here in Pittsburgh who might be able to offer crash space? I know one of the thingies is AT CMU. I know there's lots of geek population there, so I must know someone!
(3) Anyone on here interested in sharing a hotel room, failing #2?
Wee. Looks like October will be a travel-y month.
BTW, if you're interested in attending either workshop, NASW is expensive: $135 USD if you register today, $150 thereafter with last day to register Sept. 22 for members, $70 for student members, and $275 for non-members. But CASW is FREE if you have press credentials of any sort.
I'm definitely going to want to go to the NASW, since it's on the weekend, and I'd really LIKE to make it to the CASW, since it's free.
