Well, there's also these folks in Waterford, about 30 minutes from Hamilton:

They do real jousting. As in, they knock each other off horses with heavy sticks, and not breakaway models.

The NY ren faire (I think it's the Sterling one you listed) was pretty good; larger than the MA one. Didn't have any particular events or performances that really stand out in my memory, just an overall feeling of "good". I vaguely recall the michigan one being disappointing, but that was many, many years ago.

That sucks... I always wanted to go but never made it... not having a car really makes these things difficult.

The site for the Ohio one looked pretty cool, though... we stopped by one time coming back from the states when it was closed but we could see a bit of it :)
