This weekend I was both lame and not.

I did not go into the city as planned. I did not feel up to a sleepless night, which my bros party would have required. Instead I spent the weekend in a mad dash to help [livejournal.com profile] sassy_fae and [livejournal.com profile] etherlad get ready for their wedding, which is less than five weeks away.

In the process, [livejournal.com profile] sassy_fae decided to make [livejournal.com profile] velvetpage and me bridesmaids! Really, this is an excuse to buy pretty dresses and be excessively girly. Life is SO hard! *bounce*

Problem is, now we need bridesmaid dresses, and we have less than five weeks.

The good news:
Velvetpage and I have the same approximate colour hair, skin, etc.
" and I are nearly the same height, with about an inch difference
" and I are the same general shape: curvy with large hips and busts
" and I are about the same size: 16 (sometimes 14 or 18)
" and I share an adoration for the colour purple, which happens to be the favourite colour of the bride and groom.
" and I both look great in purple!

The bad news:
-At size 16, finding flattering dresses is likely to be difficult
-Money money money is inevitably tight
-Only five weeks

On an almost unrelated note, I'm semi-sick with a cold that's been going around and feel icky/tired. ugh.

*hugshugshugs!*

Five weeks? No worries, lots of time :) Plenty, I tell you! :)
Seriously, it's a matter of what gets done is good, things that don't get done are fine. It's a small wedding, and the thing that makes it important is the people who will be there!
Very excited, though! Whee!!!

The solution is obvious: save money by buying only one dress, and take turns wearing it at the wedding. Even in Canada it won't be too cold to be naked at a wedding. I'm sure nobody will mind.

... and you've hever been hard-pressed to find flattering clothing.
