I really do have furniture on the brain today.

A really cool furniture maker

The bed I think I want. Just need to find it in Canada for a reasonable price now, I suppose... somewhat unlikely, but I can dream. :)

Another bed I'd consider given how much cheaper it is (also available with pine posts at the four corners).

I should sleep. It's, like, late, and furniture is not THAT much fun.

I love that bed! Wow! It's so cool! So much nicer than those heavy wooden sleigh beds everyone carries. Yours is so much lighter-looking.

You're really feeling a nesting instinct, aren't you?

Yeah, I normally prefer wooden furniture, but even when I do, I've never been a fan of the sleigh beds. I don't know why people seem to like them so much.

I have a tendency to be obsessive about things, so I'll get on a decorating kick, or somesuch, and spend stupid amounts of time searching for the "perfect" whatever. But yes, I want to nest but I can't because I have no place of my own and don't want one yet! It's very sad.

We all go through it. And you won't be able to afford all the nice stuff you want immediately, anyway. I'm still looking forward to someday owning a couch that did not previously belong to someone else in the family. Or a dining room table, for that matter. In fact, with the exception of baby furniture, the bed, one dresser, a few bookshelves, and the futon, everything in our house used to belong to a relative. How sad is that?

I was never one for canopy beds... I think it's because I know why they originally made them.

The second one is nice though. Personally I prefer wood since it looks a little nicer and is more natural looking.

I think the best thing was those fire place grills. They looked amazing.

I don't really want to be paing the extra for the canopy, but it does have it advantages, when structural. ;)
What I really like about this bed is the clean organic lines to the leaves etc.

I normally prefer wood, but have been unable to find wooden beds I like which are not overly ornate for the kind of household I'm likely to have in the near to distant future.

Mmmm. Nice sturdy beds with corner posts. Practical and useful!

Yesss. And if you ever visited, we could test its structural integrity. ;)

I'm sorry, your first choice is already owned by someone you know. :) We got it in Kingsize so we'd have room for friends, and its name is Bedzilla. :)

The Secret Garden bed from Fashion Bed Group?

Would it really be so horrible a thing for "both" of us to own it?

And, how do you like it?

And, where were you able to find it?

And, if you don't mind telling, how much did you pay for it?

1) Yes
2) possibly, bur I suppose I can with-hold my ninja's desire to seek vengeance.
3) Very much, we have gauze on the top and I'm growing vines on either side of it.
4) in a store that was was clearing merchandise
5) don't ask. Less than you're ever going to find it for. *wry grin*

I was the one that actually bought it, and I don't mind sharing. ;-)

It was $400, and it might have been on sale, but might not. I can't remember. I got it from City Mattress. Good price, free delivery, but the delivery was a bit difficult...and they didn't give us the right hardware, initially, for assembly.

Hey...I thought they had closed...my bad. I hadn't actually thought I was being selfish on that, cuz..y'know, they were closed.

:(

Very very embarassed,

I like the look of them; they are not as heavy looking as some metal bed frames. They have elegant lines, and are not too frilly. They remind me of some garden trellises that a friend of mine had commissioned once they finally bought a house. It was cool seeing actual flowers poke out from the metal leaves.
