So I've been doing research in an attempt to find out what chains are actually Canadian owned.

Canadian:
Canadian Tire
Chapters/Indigo
Hbc (Zellers, The Bay, and Home Outfitters)
George Weston Limited (Neilson Dairy, Loblaws, Fortinos, President's Choice, No Frills, the real Canadian Superstore, Provigo, Zehrs, Atlantic Superstore, PC Financial among others)
Leon's

American et. al.
Futureshop

Any others people would like to add?

High anxiety day. Dunno why. Just cranky today. Hopefully tomorrow I'll wake up on the right side of the bed. In the meantime, I'm going to sleep early.

Amusingly enough, owned by the Wendys corporation.

Yep, wasn't it sold to them when the lady was having a nervous breakdown or something?

I laugh about it every time I see that ad that shows a Tim's coffee cup with the caption 'True Patriot Love'.

As of a few months from now, I will be boycotting Loblaws.

Any company that has such a disregard for history as to turn Maple Leaf Gardens into a supermarket does not deserve my custom.

I've heard that Canadian Tire wasn't a terribly useful place for auto-type stuff such as batteries - they were apparently quite craptastic. Then again, the folks I know are the kind who do restoration projects rather than talk about them, so they might be a bit pickier than the average citizen. . .

Yes I do believe that Chapters is american owned. I'm sure about this because they also own one of the largest Bookers (Book supplies/subscription agents for large groups/libraries etc.)internationally and are known as Indigo Books in the states. Formerly they were owned by the Coles/W.H.Smith which was actually a Bristish/Canadian amalgam.
