The yellow spot is where the city of Hamilton is.

You can see a distance chart which gives distance in miles, kilometers, and driving hours, for a variety of cities, here. From there you can also see a few other maps to give you more perspective.

Barring traffic, I'm:
45 minutes from Toronto airport
1.5 hours from Buffalo
4 hours from Detroit
5 hours from Cleveland
6 hours from Ottawa
6 hours from Pittsburgh
7.5 hours from Montreal
10 hours from Boston
10 hours from New York

I don't trust that chart one bit. It's a fairly consistent 7 hour drive for me from Boston to Buffalo, and about 8.5 to Toronto (I go via Buffalo or Niagra) - so only another 1.5 hours to Toronto after crossing into Canada. In 10 hours I can get to Cleveland. I've gone that way more times than I can remember, and I don't speed very much (usually 5-7 over the limit). I also don't usually stop much, so that might be it - maybe it is a ten hour drive if you stop for an hour and a half for a meal, and several more times for the bathroom. But it's not a 10 hour drive.

Could you go check out The Beer Store's hours of operation? We've always wanted to go on a Roadtrip there, but didn't want to drive 8 hours to find it closed.

I think used to drive through/past Hamilton going from Chicago to upstate New York.

Huh... numbers are a bit off, since I've made that trip. In a little over 10 hours, we drove from Boston to Niagra, straight through where you are, to Windsor, and down to Ann Arbor. Of course, those numbers might assume a speed of 55...
