My parents have a combo hdd dvr thingy on the upstairs tv. This means that I can program it to tape things for me, and then copy them to DVD with the commercials removed. Some movies I know I want. Others I've heard of but don't know if they're worth watching, let alone worth recording. Hence, I ask for your opinions. :)

I don;t remember what specifically 6 is but I do remember that the first 6 are all the original trek cast, so it can't be nemesis. I think it's the one where they sign the treaty with the Klingons?

A walk in the clouds is a beautiful picture... It might even remind you of your time in NorCal...

Buffy the Vampire SLayer, in movie format, is not *quite* as much fun as the series, but it's an interesting meta-experience, especially if you've read/heard Whedon's commentary on what he was forced to do by the studios.

Ladyhawke is not worth the dvd its printed on for purchase, because the transfer is crap, and there are no extras (and they had been asking $25). Its a good movie, though, and if your transfer is good, fun.

Aladdin is actually worth going out and buying. It is LOADED with extras.

I love Ocean's Eleven. You can find it for $7-10 now for purchase, and the commentary with Pitt and Clooney is a riot. The movie is really fun, though, and just recording it is fine, too.

I saw the movie of BtVS when it came out and liked it immediately and was really turned off by the series when I first saw it because it was nothing like the movie. It took me a LONG time to warm up to the series and I still like the movie somewhat better.

    Bound
is lovely in its uncut version, but is probably a travesty if cut for less mature viewers, like they cut movies for television in the states.

I am highly disturbed that more people picked Ocean's Eleven than Bound.
