danaerisSometimes we sink into diversions to stave off the quiet moment before golden slumber relieves our minds, that moment when the screams in our heads cannot be ignored.
Sometimes we sleep because even the best of diversions cannot keep our minds from destructive spirals, and that quiet moment is worth enduring if it is only followed by sweet oblivion.
Sometimes, if we run away from pain enough, it fades away before it can catch us.
And sometimes, ignorant of its death, we keep on running.
Night's silence, double-edged, brought sorrows yesterday and peace today.
Who knows what it will bring tomorrow.
