Email is currently down, and has been for more than 24 hours. If you need to contact me, use the phone.

Going to Dickens again today. Maybe see some of you there...

Los Angeles

Anyone know anyone in the LA area who might be interested in taking me to Disneyland on Monday? (not this Monday, next Monday)

Also, any suggestions on what to do in the LA area while visiting? My hostess hasn't lived there for long, and doesn't know the area too well, so we'll be exploring it together.

random other:
-[livejournal.com profile] cortneyofeden and [livejournal.com profile] ef2p throw the most rawkin parties... low-key with excellent, frank, and intellectually stimulating conversation.
-my insomnia is back. Don't know what that means... maybe its just that I'm anxious about the impending move; not sure what to do about that. Maybe I need to talk out more of my concerns with my parents ahead of time instead of talking it through with them when I get there.
-I really enjoy braiding people's hair. Enough that someday I hope to be good enough to at least consider working a fair booth.

You MUST go here: The Bodhi Tree (http://www.bodhitree.com). It's an awesome pagan/metaphysical bookstore. Across the street is Elixir (http://www.elixir.net/Store-Map.html), a lovely tea shop.

Some of my other favorite spots in LA:
-The LA Arboretum (http://www.arboretum.org)
-Exposition Park (http://www.californiasciencecenter.org/GenInfo/PlanningYourVisit/Directions/Directions.php) - home to tons of museums, the old Olympic Stadium, and some pretty gardens
-The Pleasure Chest (http://www.net101.com/rocknroll/pleasure.html)
-Santa Monica: the Third Street Promenade (http://www.thirdstreetpromenade.com/) and the Pier (http://www.santamonicapier.org/)
-Venice Beach (http://www.westland.net/venice/)
-Griffith Park (http://www.cityofla.org/RAP/grifmet/gp/)

It's also fun to take a random drive up into some of the canyon roads in the Santa Monica mountains, just to gawk at the mansions and the views. Just make sure you take a map!
