So, the reason I was trying to buy a new camera is that my old one has been broken, and the guy at a camera shop told me it could cost as much as $200 to repair.

Tonight [livejournal.com profile] eastbaygreg dropped by to help me out with a number of things, and while he was at it, we ended up trying to fix the camera.

It turns out that the button which is causing the problem got jammed into the sensor underneath the casing. We fixed the metal portion that jammed into it in the first place, but the buttons still aren't working. Anyone know anything about this kind of problem? Or anyone have the electronic know-how to look at the circuitry in the camera and either fix it or tell me how much it would really cost to repair?
