Decorating geeking
Aug. 4th, 2004 01:18 pmOK, so in making my wishlist for decorating my room, I found these drapes. I'm trying to decide if the added color would be good or bad.
Below is a link to my comforter and bed set, followed by a link to the drapes in question. The blues/purples, I'm almost certain match each other.

You really have to zoom in to see the colors accurately on the drapes.
P.S. For those who have asked/wondered, I do plan to be at S&P tonight. yay! I have no ride, so unless one materializes, I plan to BART in after a workout.
And, could some nice person who will be there earlier make sure that my food gets put in the Indian order in case I arrive after it gets put in? I want Lamb Tikka Masala and two orders of kabli naan.

I agree, they look like a good match - you'll want to check the return policy, just in case they don't.

Date: 2004-08-05 10:04 am (UTC)I tend to put a large store in recommendations by my favourite designer from the BBC, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen (http://www.bbc.co.uk/homes/design/colour_lightcolour.shtml). He's got some good basic rules, and that link will take you to a discussion he has on colours and uses of complementary and... the other kind who's name I can't remember and could probably look up but am too lazy... all right, it's only a click away, so the answer is that there are 3 types of colours
- toning
- harmonious
- complementary
When I ramble like this, I usually have to tell myself to shut up... so I'll shut up now.
