I have one pill of paxil left. The doctor did not answer my messages today asking for him to call in my prescription.

I could split it in half and take half tomorrow and half Sunday. That's the best I can do.

Paxil supposedly has bad withdrawal effects.

I'm scared.

Anyone out there on paxil able to lend me a pill or two or three until my doctor gets back to me?

Hmmm. I've got a whole bottle of the stuff that I could just hand right over to you, since I'm not taking it any more--but it's a couple years past the expiration date. If you decide you want to chance it anyway, let me know.

Paxil isn't one of the SSRIs that I've heard bad things about withdrawal from, though some of that may be dose-dependent. Going halfsies sounds like a good plan to me, esp. since many drugs that have withdrawal effects encourage tapering off. One thing that I have done when otherwise out of medication is go to a pharmacy-- I once got a three day supply from a pharmacy (paid for out of pocket) when my dog had gotten into the medicine cabinet. This may require a friendly pharmacist and a doctor whose answering service will get back to the pharmacist on the weekend, but I thought I'd mention it as an option *if* paying out of pocket works for you.

Go to the drug store where you get your prescription. They will almost always be willing to sell you a few emergency pills to get you through the weekend if you explain the circumstance. The Catboy had to do this with his Zoloft many times, and Walgreens was always understanding.

The other option is the Westside Emergency Clinic on Turk. Aren't you on Access anyways? If so, and you explain the prob, they can give you meds till your doc gets back in touch.
