Going up to Annfwn this weekend. Anyone know what the road conditions have been lately?

Annfwn is a pagan-owned and operated retreat northward (I think its in Sacramento). They don't have toilets, but there's a cabin I can sleep in if I bring some kind of bedding.
Hmm, if I'm going to be sleeping on the floor, I may sleep like shit. I can't sleep on my back and right now with the piercings still being sensitive sleeping on my stomach seems poor, and sleeping on my side generally doesn't work on the ground.

I'll be needing:
-sleeping bag (don't have one, borrow from Q maybe?)
-pillow
-bug spray of some sort
-warm, comfy clothes
-a towel, maybe?
-tarot cards
-random pagan crap that seems like a good idea at a time
-a hat
-sunblock
-Odwalla bars in case some of the meals are unappealing to me
-painkillers to help me sleep
-benadryl or other sleeping aids

Any other suggestions? Would it be weird to bring my air mattress? Hmm...

CAW-owned, or have they separated ways?

I've always wanted to see it...

Officially still owned by CAW, yes. However, most people who pour their energy into the land these days have no affiliation with CAW (such as myself, who also happens to be Annwfn's May Queen this year).

I don't camp anywhere without an air mattress. ;)

Since someone else pointed out that it was near Ukiah. I was just up there last weekend. The roads are clean and clear. They've finished up what construction on 101 was still in progress a month ago. It's all lovely.

Have a great weekend.

Hey sweets,

There will be a few mattresses available, and we can make sure that you get one. I'm already reserving the pull out bed in the Goat Lodge for Laura as it doesn't require stairs or climbing. :)

As for road conditions, unless it's been raining recently, there should be no problem. And if it has been raining, you just have to go even slower on the muddy roads. But my little '89 Honda has made the trek in the mud, so I believe just about anyone can get up there if I could. :)

The private road up to Annwfn is a dirt road and you will need to drive slowly to avoid big bumps and oncoming cars (which are always fun to maneuver around). I'll be sending out another email about the dirt road to everyone who has rsvp'd.

Other then that, it looks like you're good to go!

We have sleeping bags. You could borrow one if you like. You could pick it up tonight if you are coming over for Sunset and Port. Let me know.

Thanks for the offer! Looks like I'm taken care of though. As I suspected, my housemate had a play-dust-free sleeping bag he could lend me. :)

Extra socks... always extra socks. Hiking burned that one into my brain long ago.
