You know, I dream about telekinesis often enough that it actively annoys me that objects won't come at my beck and call in real life.

Of course, its probably for the best this way. It may not seem like a lot, but all that carrying of objects adds up to a lot of exercise. Imagine how lazy I'd get!

And in the psychic vein of things...

How is it bad? The device needs to be attached to your throat to work, so it's not a good spy device. And it could ultimately provide a really cool interface -- the subvocalization commands talked about in various sf stories.

You're clearly thinking about this in the wrong way. The energy for moving all those objects has to come from somewhere. So while its not as much excersize as actually getting up and moving the body around, you;d still be expending the energy to move the object. It would be the ultimate in lazy people excersize!
