Friday evening I obsessed over grades and then headed to Sin. It was by far the worst Sin I've ever been to, but I enjoyed it because of the company of so many wonderful friends.

Saturday I rose early, cleaned and neatened the apartment and my room quite frantically, and hopped on over the Blood Bath and Beyond. There, I bought a new table cloth for the kitchen (in the wrong shape), a new over the door mirror to replace the broken one (which I can't install because I don't have a powerdrill), some sticky hooks for the kitchen and bathroom, and three sets of sheets for my bed to go with the new bedding, with the idea that I'd return the two that didn't match.

Of course, I didn't find the one thing I had gone looking for, which was a red bath rug to match the shower curtain and other decor in the bathroom. Apparently flame red is not a popular color in home decor. Go figure. Since then searches online have confirmed that I could get a cheap but smaller than I'd like circular rug from Ikea (24" diameter, when the one we're replacing is 34"x21" and is smaller than we'd like), or the tommy hilfiger shag rug in the same size as the current one for $30 or in the size we want for $40. I think I'll check out Ross' and maybe Marshalls before I shell out the cash for those!

Then I went home and waited for people to show up. Not suprisingly, Josh ended up bailing on me after lunch at brainwash (hmph), and only 4 folks showed up for the gathering. Fortunately, they were four of my favorite folks, so it was still a good time! yay!

When all but one had to leave, [livejournal.com profile] kaidevis, [livejournal.com profile] dragon_spirit and I set out in search of sushi and grilled ice cream. Now, the last two times I've been to that damned sushi restaurant, I only found out at the end of the meal that they didn't have any ice cream. "It melted." Um, well, that's what FREEZERS are for. Anyway, this time I had the presence of mind to ask before we ordered, and they STILL didn't have any, so we got up and went to Mel's instead. Then we headed to Whole Foods and picked up some groceries.

I baked nifty chocolate chip cookies! They were tasty, even if we did have to save them for the next day's Ostara gathering!

The next day found us at the Rabbit Warren for a community Ostara gathering. It was wonderful, and [livejournal.com profile] purplerabbit's explanation to the children of Ostara was helpful to me too! I've actually tried to research the meaning of Ostara in books before and I've consistently been confused and befuddled by the supposed meanings assigned to it. Now I have a much better context, although I feel like there are still some missing things, some loose ends to tie up. I do know that I want to learn more about the goddess Ostara. I've felt I had a particular affinity for rabbits in the past, so there might be something interesting there.

Anyway, the gathering there was extremely chill and felt very safe, which was nice. I really think I needed a relaxing afternoon barbeque like that.

Next weekend I have absolutely no plans as yet, and I'm hoping to take advantage of that by getting lots of work done, taking care of some administrivia, etc. Especially since I'll be away the weekend after that. But above all I plan to relax a little more than I've been able to lately. :)

Overall, school stuff is going well. Writing stuff I'm already working on is going, albeit slowly, and I sadly just don't have the time or bandwidth to pursue new writing opportunities for the time being.

My love life is on hold until I feel ready to change that (not any time soon). Likewise with any sex life not connected to my vibrator and dildo.

My social life is toned down while I get my life in order, but I have social ops and great friends and a great community full of fascinating people worth getting to know better.

My finances are not great but ok.

My health is improving as I lose weight, gain strength and cardiovascular fitness, and in general pay more attention to taking care of myself.

My mental health has probably never been better, with the meds and therapy I'm receiving.

So in the Macro, I think everything is going pretty well!

Although I must admit that I've been unusually irritable lately. Beware the bitchy Questioner!
