My first priceline bids for a 4* downtown Seattle hotel Feb 13-17, $65/night
and my subsequent bid for Feb 13-16, $75/night were both rejected. That means I can't rebid for three days!
So my options:
(1) Call all of the convention hotels and see if they are available still at convention rates, which start at $139. 2/6 are already not available as such.
(2) Stay at the Green Tortoise Hostel, which is about 5 blocks away for ~$50/night; problem is that they may be loud with all the young folk staying there, and they may not have any rooms available the night of Feb. 14
(3) Fork out the dough for a full price hotel (ick!)
Wee!
But I have plane tickets, so all I need is hotelly goodness and a letter from the old internship that will get me the press pass.
I have no idea what I'll do the extra days in town.
catling won't be around and I don't know the other Seattle Leri folk all that well though I wouldn't object to seeing them. And then there's the folk in Portland... but dunno if they could drive up to visit me. If I end up crashing with Leri folk, hopefully they can get me to downtown to be touristy or maybe just to socialize. If I don't, I'll already be downtown and worst case, I'll wander around alone and think about Stuff.
It's not too late for someone to decide to also visit seattle and keep me company. Don't have to go to the conference with me but splitting a room is good. :)
