I'm trying to figure out if travelling by visiting people you've met via blogs, chat rooms, etc. during Spring Break is a common or on-the-rise thing for college students to do.

Anyone know anyone who does this, seen any articles or blogs dedicated to this sort of thing, etc.? Maybe a community here on LJ? Do you even know someone who has or plans to do this?

I've been traveling and crashing with people I know from online (mostly BBSes) for nearly a decade.

Of course, it's often known as a "nookie run". ;)

Are you writing an article on this? If so, I can probably point you to some research on blogs if you need any... I was at one time preparing to write my MA thesis on them. Most research is done about college students, and it would be fairly easy for me to get you access to some for polling (though, next month, not now).
