Got this out of science blog... a preliminary study shows that men and women's brains react differently to pain. Women respond emotionally, men respond analytically.

What I'd love to see is how pre-transition folk register, and how post-transition folk register. It could be really interesting.

While interesting, most of these brain-gender studies fail to take much account for the impact of socialization on childhood brain development. Of course, its next to impossible to get a control group for such a study.

Regardless, results such as these are still probably useful from a functional perspective, even if they don't necessarily determine fundamental genetic differences...

I would think that people undergoing gender transition would not be good to study. Their brains might already be wired for the other reaction.
