Sometimes when I'm feeling a little down or depressed for no good reason, I take a short nap. Not because I'm tired, but because it can be the equivalent of pressing "reset" for me. You know... maybe this time I won't wake up on the wrong side of the bed.

Sometimes, though, work or other obligations make this a non-viable option. How do you press reset in those situations? Thanks in advance for any responses!

believe it or not, a slice of bread or (when I can get it) a piece of salmon. If not that, then a B-complex vitamin and a C vitamin. Food chemistry is useful.

If you're someplace where there are a lot of people, a few moments' peace and tranquility can be found by heading into the rest room and locking yourself in - nobody will ask anything of you while you are there. I'm not sure if this would work for feeling down or depressed, but it helps lots for when you are feeling overwhelmed or over-socialed. Palm pilot games can be brought in as well, for a bit of brain candy that nobody will question you about like they would if you were playing the palm pilot out in public.

Well actually...

I can't seem to do that. Going to sleep for a bit helps a little, but it isn't nearly enough because most of the time I wake up just as depressive or listless as I was before...then I just lounge in the warm flannel bedding until something pressing prys me out.

Meditation...

Try learning to meditate. Even ten minutes of meditation can help tremendously, but you may need to find a suitable place where you will not be disturbed.
