...not per se, but I could *contrive* to think of it as "quick and dirty info".
I voted "No" on the Recall, 53, and 54. The replacement candidate I picked (holding my nose a little) was "Cruise" Bust-a-Move (trying, here, by myself, to make him sound more attractive).
Z (who fears that the only thing that can save us *now* is one of those big factory hydraulic presses)
P.S.: Read this before voting Yes on the recall *OR* for Ah-nult. I beg of you. It's *FAR* more of a concern than the stuff that's actually being covered in the media!!!
And yeah, I don't like Bustamante at all; he's only marginally better than Ahhhnuld. I actually think Davis has been a far better governor than he's been given credit for, and have written a couple of journal entries in the past explaining why. (He performed as well as anyone could have during the energy crisis, though he could've taken a stronger stand before it started. He failed to block the state employee's union from rewriting the terms of their retirement plan to their own liking, but it seems likely that if he'd tried the legislature would've overridden him. Etc.)
If you read Kausfiles, over at Slate.com, there was an interesting analysis yesterday suggesting that Arnold may've been behind the recall all along. Kind of an amusing conspiracy theory...
Not that it looks like the error rates reported are enough to have made a difference, but if the court battles over voting systems continue, this race may provide some interesting data.
I think the most interesting thing is that the touch-screens had a higher error rate than scantron-style optical ballots.

Date: 2003-10-10 02:42 pm (UTC)think. Have we diverged? ;-D

P.S.: Silver lining: Bill Simon ran again, and got fewer votes than
Gary Coleman (so I hear, but I haven't checked it).
diverged?
Date: 2003-10-10 02:51 pm (UTC)And that news about Simon pleases me.
Though have you heard about the "Schwartzmann factor"? See here, and scroll down a bit: http://slate.msn.com/id/2089298/
