ack! Seattle folk?
Sep. 3rd, 2003 05:51 pmAck!
So the AAAS Annual Meeting is the same weekend as Pantheacon. In fact, I suspect it is every year.
This year, it is in Seattle, Feb 12-16 at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center and the Sheraton Seattle Hotel & Towers and the Grand Hyatt Seattle in 'downtown Seattle.'
[Poll #175947]
Anyone have an idea of how much gas it costs to drive to Seattle, and what the range of plane ticket costs might be to get there?

Date: 2003-09-03 05:56 pm (UTC)I've found airfare in the $130 round trip range fairly frequently, and almost never below that. For my early august trip, on 2-weeks notice, I couldn't find a round trip ticket under $200 to save my life though. Folks that bought about 1-month in advance I think got $140ish tickets then.
And a non-logistical question: have you not done Pantheacon before?
Drive time
Date: 2003-09-03 07:19 pm (UTC)I remember it being close to 12 hours between Portland and SF.. but I havn't made that trip in about 10 years so I could be way off base.

Date: 2003-09-03 07:28 pm (UTC)does money matter?
Date: 2003-09-06 06:22 pm (UTC)I went Oakland to San Diego and back last weekend - the money spent on gas, inlcuding three days of driving as far as La Jolla and San Ysidro, would have bought one round-trip plane ticket.
