AHHHH!

I just realized I have four days left to get my taxes done or file for ANOTHER extension. Ahhhh! Thankfully, I have essentially all my forms except one which detail something like $5 interest. Whatever.

I guess I know what I'm doing Tuesday night. If I finish it fast enough, I can even get some cleaning and/or writing done too.

Meep.

So according to responses to my earlier post, there really isn't anyone out there who can definitely do my complicated scary taxes for me; everyone is talking about tax programs, which I don't own and don't have time to buy and install on my iBook anytime soon, I'm expecting. So it looks like I'll have to do it manual... eep.

turbo-tax for the web.

www.turbotax.com

you can either
a. order it
b. download it
OR
c. use the secure web version. no download, no install.
they ask you questions up front to determine which version you need (ranges from simple-and-cheap to complicated-and-less-cheap)

There is also a free one, if you make under foo amount. Ping me if you need the info. But it is also under turbo tax. I think it's the Quicken Tax Freedom Project, or some such. It's what I always use.

I use the online version, which costs about $40 for the whole shebang (state and federal), and that's with me using the complicated version and making enough money to be over the limit for the EZ version...

or you can try http://www.hrblock.com which has different options for do it yourself or do it yourself with professional review before filing, or professional accountant services via online. It's also $20 for answers to tax questions and advice if you are doing it your own. They have a version for self-employed people, too. Pretty inexpensive. I have not had good customer service, though. I submitted it Monday AM and have not yet been assigned a tax reviewer. Grrr.
