[livejournal.com profile] bk2w has graciously offered to drive up tomorrow morning, let me take the test in his Mazda Miata, and then do lunch. It was an offer I couldn't refuse!

I handed in my last chapter and the guy I was working with said,

You seem to be quite a night owl. Thanks for finishing this off. I'm sure I'll be back in touch later this fall when we start building web content for next year's books. Meanwhile I'll get my assistant to put in a check request for your payment.

That's a good sign I think... It means I have an incoming check and that I'll have work by December at the latest from these guys, possibly even in November (which would be perfect since that's when I'm newly ejected from Wired). Granted, you get checks AFTER you give work, so that means I won't be getting money until December at the earliest from the next job. But this is still pretty promising.

I'm really looking forward to tonight, which could go one of two ways. One way I have a date with [livejournal.com profile] unseelie -- some quality Us time. The other way I have a date with myself AND he can go to P&S tomorrow (which also means I get a ride. Muahahaha). There's just no losing there, since I could definitely use some quality Me Time.

I had a fabulous date with [livejournal.com profile] angelbob last night. We ate at Basil which was good, although I must admit that I prefer more generic Thai (which also happens to be less expensive, so I guess I win).

All is (relatively speaking) well in the world!

I am gathering that [livejournal.com profile] bk2w went to Carnegie Mellon? He knows
[livejournal.com profile] chite and [livejournal.com profile] blackpaladin and [livejournal.com profile] sk4p, who is the ex of
a Friend of mine.

<forehead smack> Of course! "bk2w" was his CMU username, wasn't
it? It follows their format: first initial, last initial, random
numeric, random alpha. (The best example is my friend who
got his nickname, "Eeyore", from the CMU login "ee0r"...)

If I get a chance, I'd like to meet this dude. I wonder how many of
my other CMU friends, most of whom are not on LJ, he knows. Hell,
maybe he even plays Icehouse (in which case I should *definitely*
be introduced)...!

Cheers,
EZ

P.S.: I don't know if he comes to LWB, but I won't be there because
my date(?) tonight has been postponed to (it looks like) Thursday.
Actually, [livejournal.com profile] joedecker might be able to dish about that to you a
little... %-}

Indeed it would be that selfsame [livejournal.com profile] bk2w. And yet again I'm somewhat amused and disturbed at social circles collapsing from different parts of the US.

As far as Icehouse? I've played it, interesting game. Never fared all that well against ts4z or eo00, though.

Of course, now I'm curious if we've ever met elsewhere.

Um, the one I know of that everyone goes to is Barely Legal in ... oakland, I think. Not sure. I'm not a die-hard rocky fan; I just enjoy attending every rare once and a while. Good luck!
