ScionFey has a coin collection he would like to sell off, but ideally, we'd like for him to get as much for it as possible.

But I'm looking at this and... I just don't know how to tell if a coin is mint, fair, good, or whatever.

So yeah. He has this big box of coins and I'm feeling overwhelmed at the task of sorting through them and trying to figure out how much they would sell for. Does anyone on here know how to deal with this or know enough about coins that you would be able to take a look at them and help us price them (and maybe even buy some)?

If they are in a box, they are not mint. They *might* be in very good condition, but it's unlikely
that they are in anything better than "good" if they've been exposed to the elements.

This looks like it might help: http://www.goldline.com/

I consulted my ex (he's been into coins for 25 years). Find 3 local dealers (yellow pages, yahoo map-it), and ask for a free evaluation of their value, then take the highest bidder. That's the best you can do without being a coin expert, or having a close friend that is one and won't rip you off.

Hrmm..

Well, the first two are good advice. If they are still around when I am out there I.d be more then ahppy to look through them (maybe even buy some of them).
