In the category of extraordinarily uncool, the tv we bought worked fine at first and then switched entirely to black and white.

If I ever hear from the previous owner again, should I ask for my money back? We asked if it worked and they said "yes." There were no disclaimers about color coming in and out.

Yeah, I thought that 20 bucks sounded to good to be true. Hell yes, ask for your money back! A black and white TV? They should pay *YOU* for the cost of hauling it off their hands.

There is also the possibility that they did not know anything was wrong with it.
Also, you just asked if it worked, not if it worked consistently in color. You think it'd be obvious, but not necessarily.
And really, it was only twenty dollars.
