Weird email from China
Sep. 4th, 2007 09:14 amI got an email supposedly from the College Student's Union of China asking for advice on choosing to continue studying or not, the issue of getting more or less degrees, etc. I don't think I'm the kind of person they think I am, but I guess my website gave them the wrong idea. They aren't asking for money (yet!), just opinions on globalization, graduation, and the value of post-graduate education. At least, that's what I think they're asking about.
Edit: I'm looking at scambusters.org, an realizing that since I haven't had breakfast, my attention span for looking this up is not very high, nor is my enthusiasm. So, perhaps what I should be asking for is other websites where one can look up internet spam scams (like the Nigerian ones).

We are College Students Team in China, a group of college students in the 4th year in university. All of us love you and your works very much. At the time of 2008 Olympic Games’ coming, our Union organize an activity---Culture Exchange. We would like to exchange cultures and thoughts with famous persons like you.
You know that it is time for us to step into society, to face the world. However, we feel puzzled at the crossroad---- whether should we study further or join in society immediately?
So what is your point of view on it? How did you make your decision when you were at our age?
As you known that China has further developed in the past few years. However, with the great development come various social problems. For example, the heat competition burdens the employment. Where should we go? What should we do?
Globalization is the main trend nowadays. The cultures of both the east and the west assimilate each other well. The unification of cultures has appeared. Under this situation, in my opinion, only the people with integrated skills can survive. So in your opinion what kind of people should we call them “integrated people”? How do the youth in their twenties in the west treat the problem?
Can you spare us a few minutes to give us some good suggestions to guide us to the bright future?
We respect you very much, and your advice can push us forward. We really desire for the world outside, and hope it comes true someday!
