Yoinked from [livejournal.com profile] being_angyl...
"Missouri legislators in Jefferson City considered a bill that would name Christianity the state's official "majority" religion.
...
The resolution would recognize "a Christian god," and it would not protect minority religions, but "protect the majority's right to express their religious beliefs.
The resolution also recognizes that, "a greater power exists," and only Christianity receives what the resolution calls, "justified recognition.""

It's a resolution, and not a bill. It's not a law or anything like that. And apparently, lots of resolutions never pass -- including several over the years which resemble this one. Nonetheless, it's pretty distressing to see something this unconstitutional going on. What are they smoking? Really bad church incense?

I believe it is being voted on sometime this week.

So, some may recall that my appointment with the PCOS specialist with 5 different offices didn't happen in January because I was unable to find the correct office.

My second attempt appointment is fast approaching, scheduled for the afternoon of March 21.

Today, my cell phone rings:
"Hi, I'm calling from doctor so and so's office to confirm your appointment for Tuesday March 14?"

I glance at the calendar. That's not the date of my PCOS appointment... nor did that sound like my doctor's name. "I'm sorry, which clinic is this for?" I ask, confused.

"Oh, we're the such and such Infertility clinic. You were referred here by someone... I'm not sure who," the secretary cheerfully responds.

Hmm. Infertility is related to PCOS. Could I be confused about the date of the appointment? "Is this for PCOS? Because I did have an appointment for THAT for Tuesday, the 21st with this other doctor."

Now the secretary sounds less certain. "No, this is for infertility clinic. Let me check with the other doctor."

She puts me on hold, then comes back and says, "Well, you're right, you do have that appointment with that doctor for PCOS. But someone also referred you to Doctor So and So for infertility treatment. Do you still want that appointment?"

The door to my office is open and coworkers can hear me, but I shrug and say, "Well, I doubt that would be very useful to me, since I'm not trying to conceive."

There's a long pause. "Oh. No. I guess it wouldn't."

I think there is a field of weirdness surrounding this building. But, I'm glad this happened, because it was funny, and because I was able to confirm the OTHER appointment, and get the information that the doctor's office has moved AGAIN, from the 10th to the 11th floor. Yegads!
