I've been getting suggestions from [livejournal.com profile] rbowspryte, who is a l33t artiste, on painting the bedroom.

My comforter is a lovely iridescent blue/pink/purple, with a rose underside and a matching purple throw. My dresser is painted a blue selected to match the blue the comforter iridesces, and the front will eventually be covered with a decoupage involving cherry blossoms. My sheets themselves are either a plum, a grey, or a violet.

I've put up a gallery with the three paint options I'm currently looking at with [livejournal.com profile] rbowspryte's input. The little table is the exact colour of my dresser (Mysteria). If you're REALLY bored and want to mess around and make your own sample bedrooms, you can do so by going to www.behr.com, picking "explore color" and then "start color smart."

[Poll #664674]

I am feeling cautiously excited. Hopefully the lease signing tonight will go well and I will love the place as much as I did on Saturday/Sunday.

Wow. Um.

So. The main room's ceiling is 6'2", and the bedroom ceiling is 6'3".

The bedroom is bigger than I'd remembered. The common space is smaller than I remembered. The storage closet is about the size I remembered. The landlady is at least as cool as I remembered.

I almost walked out without signing the lease. But if I walked out, I wasn't sure that I would ever find a place I was willing to "settle" for. So instead, I took a tip from [livejournal.com profile] rbowspryte and negotiated a 7 month lease. So, if it doesn't work out, I can move out September 1. And I have five months to decide if that is necessary.

In the meantime, looking at the space, it is clear to me that my tall book case will not fit, nor the full sized couch, nor the large circular table (which would fit but is a bad 'fit' for the space).

That means that the only pieces of furniture that my family and I can't handle on our own if necessary are:
1 love seat
1 full sized mattress and box spring
maybe, 1 tall filing cabinet
maybe, a large rug, if it won't fold in half

[livejournal.com profile] knotty_mark, [livejournal.com profile] futabachan, [livejournal.com profile] freefloat, anyone else with large vehicles I'm forgetting...
(1) Which of the above do you figure you could potentially move?
(2) When would be convenient for you to move those items?

Painting volunteers
I am hereby cancelling painting. If I want to spruce the place up I can always get a wall hanging. Thanks for volunteering, folks!

Moving volunteers
I'm tentatively planning a big moving day Sunday the 12th. HOWEVER, I have so little stuff that it is possible that it will all get moved between now and then, or that I won't need all of the volunteers who have offered. I'll keep you updated.

Shopping volunteers?
Enjoy nesting/decorating and have a car/other vehicle? You can help me out by taking me shopping! Ikea, Canadian Tire, and other places have great space efficient furniture. I foresee some of that in my future.

Donations
I'll be doing an inventory of furniture, bathroom stuff, and kitchen stuff I already have, and what I need. I know I have a box of some pots and pans, but I'm pretty sure I have no plates or utensils.

Today I am being breakful, having devoured a large amount of chocolate raspberry low-fat gelato in an exercise of stress-relief. Tomorrow I will focus on getting those press releases written, and if there's extra time, I'll go forth and pack and inventory like a madwoman.

In between, I may just go nuts browsing the ikea etc. site. :)
