(no subject)
May. 13th, 2005 11:32 amI'm going home tonight to guarantee a good night of sleep, and will be busing in sometime tomorrow. I've promised tomorrow afternoon to my brother... I could do lunch and early afternoon with him, and then perhaps I'll do late afternoon naughty baking and dinner with
neeuqdrazil if she's still up for that... we'll have to see. Then to the party and then bed (what bed? still no idea where I'll end up crashing; either at the bro's place or at a gracious friend's place).
Sunday, I was thinking of going to the Poly Brunch; it's in downtown Toronto this month, at noon at the Butler's Pantry (591 Markham Street at Bathurst and Bloor, across from Honest Ed's). If folks want to hang out, I might stick around and go thrift shopping or visit some of the interesting shops around town (kinky, sexy, pagany, you name it!). Any takers?
And now, because it has been too long since I did an inane poll, and I like inane polls, here's a poll about my new shirt.

An Interesting Discovery
May. 13th, 2005 03:59 pmDoing research for my future car purchase, I was disturbed to discover discrepancies in the mpg provided for any given vehicle on different websites. The units were supposedly the same, but the numbers were different.
Now I know why.
When I adjust for those percentages, Canadian PR and US PR line up.
Now I know why.
In the 1980s, an EPA study found that drivers were typically achieving lower fuel economy than predicted by EPA laboratory tests. As a result, EPA required the laboratory-derived city and highway MPG estimates posted on the labels of new vehicles to be adjusted downward by 10 percent for city estimates and by 22 percent for highway estimates to better reflect the MPG real-world drivers can expect.
