I have OHIP! Yay!
I dragged my parents out to a Thai restaurant for dinner today, but it didn't work out. First we were accidentally diverted into a Bingo only parking lot; it took us 15 minutes or so to escape what with the imbeciles we had to contend with. It was both irritating and hilarious. Then the Thai restaurant turned out to have a definition of mild which definitely did not coincide with mine, nor with my father's. Luckily, the portions were sufficiently large that the three of us were able to fill up more than adequately on my mother's pad thai with a little spicy dish to supplement, and mango sticky rice for dessert.
Then I was dropped off at a super nifty tea shop named Bubble Bobble. It had tasty hot chocolate, disgusting desserts, entrees, and all sorts of tea-like beverages including the ones with those bubbles in the bottom. There was also a collection of board games and muchly seating and a very friendly atmosphere for loitering. And, score, it is only a 25 minute walk from my place (I walked home) and two blocks from
yiab's place! w00tx0r!
I then sat with
yiab and chatted for about four hours.
I was wired. Foot tapping, fidgeting with random objects (we played jenga), bouncingness and all. It may have been the excess of calories when I've been dieting so hard, plus the stimulants in the hot chocolate. Or just natural hyperness. Either way, I was hyper and jittery, but he didn't seem to mind, being a nice guy. And we had fun! yay!
We have agreed that there will be movies and buffy watching in our futures. These are both good, excellent things.
I also think that I will make it my quest to find more geeky folks. Perhaps I will even pervert some of the innocent ones. Fear me, oh innocent ones! muahahaha!
Networking via lj is one way. Anyone have any other suggestions on how to locate geeks in the area? I'm not looking for bootielicious folks, although that would be nice. Just people who are worth socializing with, which basically means, geeks and geek groupies, of the subculture geek.
*bouncebouncebounce*
When I got home my father was still awake. He was all anxious because I got home after midnight. Silly dad. I wonder what it says that I find it cute in a pat pat yes dear kind of way when he's like that. I suppose that if he continues to be like that I'll start finding it irritating eventually.
I hope I don't lose weight today. If I do, I'll know that there is something weird going on. If I gain weight, I can just go back to dieting tomorrow, and all will be well. :)
