Ugh. Just when I seemed to get better, I've backslided. My ears hurt, my throat hurts, I'm still having trouble breathing... I feel like utter shit. And I slept in late enough from my nap that going to my therapy appointment wouldn't work.

I could really use some company to help motivate me to pack, because right now all I want to do is feel sorry for myself and go back to sleep, but there's lots of packing left to do!

I could also use a Jamba Juice Coldbuster, and would reimburse anyone who would deliver said tasty to me.

I tried to call the Haight Ashbury Free Clinic about getting an appointment so I can get antibiotics, but their machine doesn't take messages and it said they were closed today for the federal holiday. WHAT federal holiday? *sigh*

Monday, [livejournal.com profile] mertuil and her fabulous boy whose username I am blanking on (anyone able to help me there?) took me to Torrid for the first time.

I'm in love. And I couldn't help myself; I bought this dress. It just looked too good on me to pass up. I am also lusting after this one, but they didn't have it in my size.

Luckily, they DO ship internationally, plus there's a Torrid in Walden Galleria in Buffalo, which my mother and I will doubtless be visiting from time to time (flights out of Buffalo are often cheaper, and we have relatives there).

The evening was fun, and helped remind me of what wonderful friends I have here. If I could have found a way to see even a fraction of the friends I've made here regularly, I imagine wild horses couldn't drag me away. You all rock.

I also tried my first Ice Wine, and got re-educated about champagne. Yum all around! I definitely recommend going to La Fondue on a Monday or Tuesday when there's no corkage fee. It works out great. :)

Somehow, in the next week, I need to finish packing all my stuff and ship it. I need to sell all my furniture, and donate all my clothes, and I was hoping to drive up to Davis with my friend and meet her horse, and overnight one night at Annwfn to say goodbye to the land. Friday night I'm choosing between W&S, Friday Night Waltz (but only if my breathing gets better), and Queen of Heaven. Saturday I will be at someone's NY day event most of the day chilling and hanging out with folks, although other plans may worm in there. Sunday I am doing brunch at Scharffenberger's Cafe Cacao, and a tour of the factory, but have no plans for the evening, and Monday and Tuesday (my last two days) are as yet unbooked.

Things will be hectic. Here's hoping I get everything done on time.
Y'know, writing this positive post has definitely cheered me up at least some.

A friend of mine is looking for someone she can train to replace her so she can move on within her startup. It's on the peninsula (I forget exactly where). This is a job she has been willing to commute from Santa Cruz area for, and when she got it, I can tell you she was really excited about the company.

Anyway, check out her post about it, which has a link to the job posting as well as some other jobs they're hiring for. Check it out.

Cafe Cacao

Sunday at noon, I am meeting the following people for brunch at Cafe Cacao in Berkeley:
[livejournal.com profile] auros
[livejournal.com profile] plymouth
[livejournal.com profile] karenbynight
[livejournal.com profile] eastbaygreg
Brea

I will need to make reservations, so if you would like to join us for this, I suggest you speak now or forever hold your peace!

Also, Auros, Xta and I are RSVP'd for the 2:30 p.m. tour of the factory. If a large number of people were to decide that they DID want to go on the tour, I could reserve us our own private tour for $35 (and we'd each get $1 gift certificates, to a max of 30). Let me know if you'd be interested in this option.

You can check out the furniture I'm selling here:

I may also have a variety of stuff to give away or sell ultra cheap to friends, including a lot of women's clothing in sizes 10-14.

VHS to DVD

Anyone have the equipment to convert VHS to DVD and willing to do so for me? I need to preserve copies of my skating tapes... they're literally irreplaceable.

I have to decide at some point whether I want to ship my printer and computer speakers, or sell them here and buy new ones in canada.

my speakers
My printer is an older model which no one seems to sell anymore (epson stylus c40). Maybe I shouldn't bother shipping that one, then...
And then there's my fondue pot...

Decisions are hard!

I didn't do any more packing today, but at least I got those ads up. Tomorrow I will have to be super productive or I may not be able to go to S&P. Two people went by the apartment to look at my room today, so it looks like I will have to be out on time. eep!

But now it is bed time.
