So the documentation with the phone insists that I should install THEIR version of palm desktop. But whenever I try to do that, access is denied. I've checked, and I'm logged in as an admin. So I have no idea what its damage is.

I'd really like to get this up and running so I can sync the new phone. Do you think its really that important to use their version of palm desktop? The one I've got is 4.1 too, iirc.

Grr.

So far 3 people have graced me with calls, but none of them have come through on the new phone. Still, they get bonus points for sharing in my geeky joy. :)

Edit:

With my l33t g33x0r skillz I have triumphed. I enabled root user, created a password (since I'd never had to use it before), logged out as me and logged in as root user, and successfully installed it. Now I just have to get my normal account to talk to that copy of palm, and that to talk to my treo, and I'll be all transferred.

The new phone is up and running as my primary PDA.

I just called sprint and asked them why my phone is not receiving nor able to make calls even though it is nearly an hour since they said it would be activated. Apparently there is a 2-6 hour wait window AFTER the time they give you. *grumbles*

Much thanks to the nifty folks who did try to call me, however...

Meanwhile, I took a much needed shower and will probably get dressed and go do laundry Real Soon Now.

swell!

The bad
Neither of my phones are working now, but I'm told that people who try to call me get forwarded to my sprint voice mailbox.

On top of that, my landline is no longer simply crackly. It seems to be alternating between crackly and disconnected. Tomorrow I sense another call to SBC in the offing.

None of the fitness stuff I ordered yesterday have shipped yet. *pout* When it does, it will probably take a week or so to get here. ETA is June 21 and 22.

The good stuff
On the positive side, I just processed some stuff with an SO that needed to be processed, and I think that we are FINALLY both feeling like we are on the same page. Stable, low-key, low-maintenance being the key words.

Oh, and there is an incredibly gorgeous flower arrangement in a vase on my kitchen table, courtesy of said SO.

Well, portions of tomorrow are looking booked. Wednesday is booked. Thursday evening is booked. Friday evening is booked, I hope. Saturday afternoon and evening likewise. Sunday is booked. The next week, I have no plans yet. We'll see how long that lasts.

to do list for tomorrow )
